Boston College achieves new milestones in sponsored research during the '90s, reflecting a faculty that is vigorous and far-ranging in its explorations. In 1994 a then-record level of 149 research proposals are funded to the tune of $16,531,422. The following year, 156 proposals are awarded grants and contracts totaling $19,480,273, the largest such sum in University history.
