Dear Faculty and Staff:
COVID-19 testing for all faculty and staff who plan to be on campus this semester will take place in Conte Forum beginning the week of August 17. We appreciate your assistance with this critical step in our Reopening plan.
As has been communicated, BC had originally planned to utilize an app from CoVerified to schedule the tests; however, we were unable to complete testing of the app prior to the commencement of the University’s COVID-19 testing efforts starting next week. We anticipate that the app will be available later in the month for daily symptom monitoring, and to schedule ongoing surveillance testing.
As a result, faculty and staff testing will be available in Conte Forum on a walk-in basis August 17-23. The schedule for next week is as follows:
- Mon. 8/17: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Tue. 8/18: 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Wed. 8/19: 7 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Thu. 8/20: 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- Fri. 8/21: 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- Sat. 8/22: 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.
- Sun. 8/23: 8 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Faculty and staff may also seek testing in Conte Forum August 24-30 from 8 am -7 pm, but should expect longer wait times due to student volume. Where possible, we encourage all faculty and staff to have their tests performed during the week of August 17, when there will substantial testing capacity and minimal wait times. Following completion, wristbands evidencing participation in initial testing will be distributed. We ask all members of the BC community to wear the wristbands through September 11.
The cost of the COVID-19 test will be covered by Boston College.
The Broad Institute, which is analyzing testing at BC and dozens of local colleges and universities, requires that all individuals sign a consent form prior to testing. The consent form is available at bc.edu/consent. Please click on the link and sign the form electronically to begin the first step of the testing process.
The testing of all students, faculty, staff who plan to be on campus this fall is central to our efforts to help ensure the health and well-being of all members of the BC community.
Thank you for your cooperation as we work together to begin the fall semester on August 31.
Sincerely,
