I am a fifth-year doctoral student from Australia with broad interests at the intersection of philosophy and natural science. My research focuses on two main areas.
First, my dissertation explores Immanuel Kant's theory of teleological judgment and its connections to his views on history, nature, and race. Specifically, I examine how developments in the life sciences influenced Kant's intellectual trajectory, with a particular emphasis on the philosophical implications of his racial classifications.
Second, I investigate how phenomenologists have critiqued the dominance of natural sciences in universities. My work primarily centers on Hannah Arendt, using her insights on issues like world alienation to interrogate the existential significance of modern science.
