Gadamer Professorship

Each academic year, the Department of Philosophy welcomes into its teaching ranks a prominent scholar from outside North America for approximately six weeks. During that time, the Gadamer Professor offers one intensive graduate and one intensive undergraduate course and gives a public lecture. Past Gadamer Professors have included: Rudolf Bernet (KU Leuven), Remi Brague (Paris-Sorbonne), Marcia Sa Cavalcante Schuback (Sodertorn University, Sweden), Francoise Dastur (Universite de Nice - Sophia Antipolis), Emmanuel Falque (Institut Catholique de Paris), Jean Greisch (Institut Catholique de Paris), Axel Honneth (Goethe-Universitaet Frankfurt), Jean-Luc Marion (Paris-Sorbonne), Paul Moyaert (KU Leuven), and Alessandro Ferrara (University of Rome Tor Vergata).
