Our Accelerated Course is designed for you to make the most of your time gaining knowledge and skills in four Clinical Aesthetics service areas: Neurotoxins, Biostimulators, HA Dermal Fillers and Microneedling
Online Sessions: 2 Live Zoom / and 1 Asynchronous:
Preclinical instruction in the sciences of anatomy, histology, and kinesiology as related to cosmetic injections and treatments. Lectures include essential information for products, safety procedures and treatment protocols.
In-Person Sessions:
Clinical instruction, observation, and hands-on injection training and treatments in small group sessions.

Practitioners are Board-Certified NPs with clinical experience from some of the country’s best hospitals. Utilizing an evidence-based approach, while prioritizing safety and results, Inject with LexRx, the educational division of LexRx, courses are designed to provide clinicians with new skills to expand their practices and serve the fast growth aesthetics market.

Clinical Aesthetics Injectables Skills Program/Neurotoxins
This is an introductory course for clinical aesthetics injection of neurotoxins, through didactic and hands-on instruction. We provide a comprehensive review of anatomy and physiology, indications and contraindications for treatment, as well as guidelines for safe, evidence-based practice. This course includes both live, on Zoom didactic and live, in-person hands-on instruction.
This course includes:
- A review of all FDA approved brands, including BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport®, Jeuveau®, Xeomin®.
- Comprehensive review of anatomy and physiology, indications and contraindications for treatment, as well as guidelines for safe, evidence-based practice.
- Discussion and demonstration of safe dosing and injection techniques for treatment of the upper face.
At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Identify essential characteristics of botulinum toxin.
- Identify essential facial muscles for treatment.
- Describe the safe steps for using Botox Cosmetic and Dysport, including ordering, reconstitution, storage, dosing, and contraindications.
- Demonstrate the process for selecting clients and using photo documentation.
- Describe the safe steps for prepping for injections, including consent prepping the skin, mapping, and injection approach.
- Describe post-treatment client instructions, adverse reactions and complications, need for follow-up appointments.
- Identify essential logistics for safe practice, including scope of practice, malpractice insurance, medical directorship, and documentation (EMRs).
- Demonstrate a safe, quality facial cosmetic injection process.
To receive a Certificate of Completion you must complete one Zoom lecture session as well as the hands-on training day and demonstrate understanding of the content as well as safe injection techniques.
Clinical Aesthetics Injectables Skills Program/Biostimulators (Sculptra/PLLA)
This is an introductory course for injection of biostimulators, namely Sculptra® (Poly-L-lactic Acid or PLLA). The course provides a comprehensive review of anatomy and physiology, indications and contraindications for treatment, as well as guidelines for safe, evidence-based practice.
This course includes:
- A review of all FDA approved brands, i.e. Sculptra®
- Comprehensive review of anatomy and physiology, indications and contraindications for treatment, as well as guidelines for safe, evidence-based practice.
- Discussion and demonstration of safe dosing and injection techniques for treatment of the mid-lower face.
At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Identify essential characteristics of biostimulators / poly-l-lactic acid. Identify essential facial anatomical layers / structures as they relate to the treatment.
- Describe the safe steps for using biostimulators / poly-l-lactic acid, including ordering, reconstitution, storage, dosing, and contraindications.
- Demonstrate the process for selecting clients and using photo documentation.
- Describe the safe steps for prepping for injections, including consent prepping the skin, mapping, and injection approach.
- Describe post-treatment client instructions, adverse reactions and complications, need for follow-up appointments.
- Identify essential logistics for safe practice, including scope of practice, malpractice insurance, medical directorship, and documentation (EMRs).

Clinical Aesthetics Injectables Skills Program/HA Dermal Fillers
This is an introductory course for injection of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers (“HA dermal fillers”). As part of the course, we review utilization of the Juvéderm and Restylane portfolios of products. We provide a comprehensive review of anatomy and physiology, indications and contraindications for treatment, as well as guidelines for safe, evidence-based practice. This course includes both live, on Zoom didactic and live, in-person hands-on instruction.
The online session will feature ultra-HD injection demonstration videos by LexRx Nurse Practitioners. Clinicians that take this course will have access to our recommended resources for compliance, legal, and logistics, including connections to Boston-area medical directors.
This course includes:
- A review of all FDA approved brands, i.e. the Restylane and Juvéderm portfolios of HA dermal fillers.
- Comprehensive review of anatomy and physiology, indications and contraindications for treatment, as well as guidelines for safe, evidence-based practice.
- Discussion and demonstration of safe dosing and injection techniques for treatment of the mid-lower face.
At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Identify essential characteristics of HA dermal fillers.
- Identify essential facial anatomical layers / structures as they relate to the treatment.
- Describe the safe steps for using HA dermal fillers, including ordering, storage, dosing, product selection, and contraindications.
- Demonstrate the process for selecting clients and using photo documentation.

Clinical Aesthetics Microneedling / Collagen Induction Therapy Training
Designed for the aesthetic provider who is interested in offering a high-satisfaction, minimally invasive skincare treatment with proven clinical outcomes--namely improvement in fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, appearance of pores, as well as overall improvement in the skin's texture and tone.This course includes hands-on practice using FDA-cleared microneedling devices under the direct supervision of experienced LexRx NP Clinical Aesthetics professionals.This course includes:
- A review of the FDA-cleared SkinPen® microneedling device
- A refresher of anatomy and physiology (specifically the layers of the skin), indications and contraindications for treatment, as well as guidelines for safe, evidence-based approach to the treatment of the face/neck/chest
- Discussion and demonstration of safe microneedling techniques
At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
- Describe the layers of the skin and the effects of the aging process
- Explain pre and post treatment care for microneedling procedures
- Explain the screening elements to determine candidacy for treatment
- Demonstrate SkinPen® use for collagen stimulation and treatment of acne scarring
- Summarize the post treatment skin healing process
- Summarize intended use of SkinPen® treatment areas
- Demonstrate safe and effective microneedling treatment process
INSTRUCTOR BIOGRAPHIES
Alexa Nicholls Costa, NP
Alexa blends her extensive background in science with a passion for art to deliver impeccable results for her clients. Many find comfort in knowing that Alexa has expertise not only in injectables, but also in emergency medicine.
Alexa is a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner and one of the leading ladies of LexRx. She has clinical and research experience in plastic surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. While at MGH, Alexa trained alongside the Division Chief and Lead Nurse Practitioner. In addition to many professional and academic publications, Alexa was also the recipient of the Masters of Nursing Excellence Award at Regis College—an honor awarded to one candidate each year. Alexa has served as a Nurse Practitioner Fellow in the prestigious Emergency Medicine Fellowship Program (EMPED) through Brown Medical School. Following completion of her fellowship, Alexa began working in the Emergency Department at Massachusetts General Hospital.
As co-founder of LexRx and Inject With Lex, Alexa was the Course Director for the nation’s first University-hosted, injectables training program. A Key Opinion Leader in the industry, Alexa is also Faculty for Galderma's GAIN Business division, educating practice owners from across the country. She has been an invited speaker at conferences such as the American MedSpa Association’s MedSpa Show, The Aesthetic Show, Innova@Tufts Conference, and the Nurse Practitioner Entrepreneurship Conference to name a few.

Alexandra Rogers, NP
Alexandra approaches her work with creativity and diligence. Urgent/emergency medicine remains a passion of hers, but she is excited by the ability to empower and promote well-being in her clients through aesthetic medicine.
Alexandra is a Board-Certified Nurse Practitioner and one of the leading ladies of LexRx. She worked at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates in the Adult and Pediatric Urgent Care Center, and then transitioned to managing her own urgent care clinic. In these roles, Alexandra was exposed to many complex medical problems and gained immense clinical insight. She received formal certification through AMET for injectables. Her strong foundation in urgent/emergency medicine has evolved into a flourishing career as a Nurse Practitioner and trusted provider.
As co-founder LexRx and Inject With Lex, Alexandra was the Lead Instructor for the nation’s first University-hosted, injectables training program. As a Key Opinion Leader in the industry, Alexandra has been an invited speaker at industry conferences, including the American MedSpa Association’s MedSpa Show, The Aesthetic Show, Innova@Tufts, and the Nurse Practitioner Entrepreneurship Conference.
