Microneedling is a collagen-induction therapy treatment that uses a device to create thousands of “micro” skin punctures to stimulate the skin’s natural wound healing process. The treatment creates a controlled skin injury that will result in stimulating collagen and elastin production to aid in healing acne scars, diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and shrink the pores. The  result is healthy and radiant looking skin with improved texture.

Designed for the aesthetic provider who is interested in offering a high-satisfaction, minimally invasive skincare treatment with proven clinical outcomes--namely improvement in fine lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, appearance of pores, as well as overall improvement in the skin's texture and tone.

This course includes hands-on practice using FDA-cleared microneedling devices under the direct supervision of experienced LexRx NP Clinical Aesthetics professionals.

This course includes:

  • A review of the FDA-cleared SkinPen® microneedling device
  • A refresher of anatomy and physiology (specifically the layers of the skin), indications and contraindications for treatment, as well as guidelines for safe, evidence-based approach to the treatment of the face/neck/chest
  • Discussion and demonstration of safe microneedling techniques

At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the layers of the skin and the effects of the aging process
  • Explain pre and post treatment care for microneedling procedures
  • Explain the screening elements to determine candidacy for treatment
  • Demonstrate SkinPen®  use for collagen stimulation and treatment of acne scarring
  • Summarize the post treatment skin healing process
  • Summarize intended use of SkinPen®  treatment areas
