Collaboration among students, faculty, and staff around Generative AI is an essential part of the Boston College approach to exploring how AI can be used to serve the University.
Campus AI Steering Committee
A faculty-led group focused on discussing AI in teaching, learning & research. This committee also provides input and perspective from the academic & research community on the review and implementation of AI tools for use by the University community.
Membership:
- Faculty from Psychology and Neuroscience, Carroll School of Management, Lynch School of Education & Human Development, Computer Science, Woods College of Advancing Studies, and English
- Student from Undergraduate Government at Boston College (UGBC)
- Staff from the Office of the Provost and Dean of Faculties, Libraries, Information Technology Services (ITS), Center for Digital Innovation in Learning (CDIL)
Executive Vice President’s AI Working Group
This group is focused on AI in administration, and how it may enable efficiency or innovation to better serve the University. This committee also provides input and perspective from the administrative community on the review and implementation of AI tools for use by the University community.
Membership:
- Representation from Academic Administrators, Advancement, Athletics, Human Resources, Internal Audit, Mission & Ministry, Institutional Research & Planning, ITS, Facilities, and Student Affairs.
Purposeful AI Working Group (2024-2025)
This year-long community of practice, co-sponsored by the Center for Digital Innovation in Learning (CDIL) and ITS, is meant to give faculty a hands-on way of exploring AI by building custom chatbots in their courses.
