I specialize in 20th century continental philosophy, with a focus on phenomenology and hermeneutics. My current research project explores the relationship between modes of self-body relation and ethical sensibility, drawing on the philosophy of Emmanuel Levinas, Maurice Merleau-Ponty, Bernhard Waldenfels, Judith Butler and others. Other areas of competence include Chinese philosophy, Kyoto school, and History of Western philosophy.
Outside of academics, I enjoy multi-day hikes in the wilderness, basketball and jazz.
