On Saturday, September 21 Professor Marina McCoy explored the Greek tragedy Philoctetes and its themes of friendship, betrayal, and healing in a talk at the Getty Museum in California. McCoy considers the value of its live performance as a communal experience, inviting the audience to examine how they care for those at the margins of society and what it means to move beyond injustice and toward community. Her talk was entitled "Sophocles's Philoctetes—From Wounding to Healing".
