Boston Marathon bombing survivors Patrick Downes ’05 (Human Development) and Jessica Kensky awarded the first scholarship from a fund created by Downes’s classmates in a campus ceremony in October. The first recipient of the Boston College Strong Scholarship is Carroll School of Management sophomore Jack Manning, who lost his leg to cancer and now volunteers to support and mentor young patients who face the prospect of losing limbs.
