Lynch School of Education Dean Stanton Wortham screens his award-winning documentary Adelante. Event included a Q&A after the screening with a reception that followed in the Murray Room of Yawkey. Peter Lynch was in attendance as was a priest who was one of the actors in the film.

With over 30 years of experience in education, Dean Wortham is an expert on how educational and cultural contexts shape individuals and communities. In this conversation, he discusses the importance of educational access for all learners—highlighting the Universal Design for Learning framework and the impact of technology in the classroom. Dean Wortham shares his advice for fostering inclusion and creating more equitable education spaces.

“I would encourage you to spend time learning about people from different backgrounds, with different abilities, different interests, and different languages, because the more you know about the different ways that people from various places approach the world—what they expect, what makes them comfortable, what’s important to them, and what they value—then the easier it is to figure out ways to include them,” Dean Wortham said.
