Michael is a planning, facilities, and event operations leader with over 20 years of experience at higher education institutions in athletics, academics, and research, managing budgets of up to $25M and a staff of up to 400.
In his career, Michael has led the management of over 200 Division I football, baseball, and basketball events, including hosting NCAA and ACC championships. He acted as the sports administrator for College Baseball World Series, NCAA tournament representative for NCAA College Baseball, and he served on various school and conference committees. He has also led the planning, design, and construction of various capital facility projects, such as a track and field stadium, a baseball expansion stadium, an indoor practice facility, and an executive learning hotel and conference center.
Michael has operations expertise with self-managed services and outsource managed services in an effort to maximize support and reduce risk with fiscal efficiencies. Michael has held roles as the Director of Athletics Facilities and Operations at the University of Virginia, Executive Director of Facilities & Operations for the UVA Darden School of Business, Regional Director of Operations for Compass Group, and is currently the Director of Planning and Facilities for the Harvard Medical School.
