Assistant Professor of the Practice in Popular Music genres
Position Description
A full-time, non-tenure track position. The Music Department of Boston College seeks an instructor passionate about the education of undergraduates and capable of integrating cutting-edge knowledge into a variety of pedagogical contexts. The ideal candidate will bring broad expertise in music of the contemporary world on themes such as music in regional or global perspectives; music and new media, music and technology; and/or the business of music. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses for undergraduate music majors and non-music majors (3-3 load), and to bring demonstrated experience with current pedagogical discourse and best practices.
Qualifications
Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in music and be able to demonstrate an outstanding record as a teacher of undergraduates at the college level. Candidates with at least 5 years' experience at the college level preferred.
