Wrote a play which she is directing and producing for BC Arts Festival this year! The play is called “Beautiful” and the performances will be Saturday April 29th in the Stokes Art Tent at 5pm and Sunday May 7th at The Democracy Center in Harvard Square at 8:30pm.

Awarded a Fulbright Fellowship. She will teach writing at a university in Spain during the 2017-2018 academic year.

Delivered a paper titled, "’Gendered Crisis’: The Aisling Trope as a Reactionary Response to Irish Colonial Occupation” at The New England American Conference for Irish Studies at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy on Saturday, November 5th. Kristy also won the Blackwell Prize for the best research paper written from a cultural studies perspective by an MA student.

Presented his paper, "An Incredulous Position: Death and Melancholia for Kristeva's Radical Sullen Atheist" at the fifth annual meeting of the Kristeva Circle at Södertörn University in Stockholm, Sweden in October 2016.

Presented at the Mid-Atlantic Popular & American Culture Association on Thursday, November 3rd in Atlantic City. Her paper was a part of a panel on Fan-fiction, and was entitled: “His saucy manners and his sparkling eyes”: William Leonard Courtney, “Kit Marlowe’s Death”, and the Harvard University English Department.

Presented a paper titled "Ashamed and Tamed: Civilizing the Irish in Marvell's 'Horatian Ode'" at the South-Central Renaissance Conference in Austin, Texas, April, 21, 2017. The paper was awarded the John M. Wallace Award by the Andrew Marvell Society.
Recipient of the inaugural Kiara Kharpertian award. Duquette will use her award, which recognizes intellectual risk taking, to present a paper on Andrew Marvell's "characterization of the Irish as both a worthy and moral opponent" at the South-Central Renaissance Conference in Austin, Texas this spring.
