Ph.D. student

Profile

I am a Ph.D. Student interested in sediment transport, coastal hazards related to sea level rise, and the paleo-progression of the Quaternary climate. I also really enjoy invertebrate Paleontology. As a proud first-generation college student, I received both my undergraduate and master's degrees at CUNY Brooklyn College where I studied Holocene Concretions and correlated their significance to New York Bight. Outside of academica I enjoy inspiring K-5 students to pursue STEAM-related projects. When I am not at school, I am probably in my garden.

Why did you choose Boston College for your postgraduate work?

I chose Boston College because of the inclusive atmosphere within the department. My current advisor's research interests closely align with the work I've always wanted to be a part of, and the small department was attractive to me, knowing I would get support from the department as a whole. Moreover, the department is home to a remarkable group of professors and students, and I was enthusiastic about immersing myself in a community of intellectually stimulating individuals. An additional perk is the school's beautiful campus!
