BC/ISR physicist Tom Miller (just off-screen) helps students with a soda bottle rocket launch at the February Super-STEM Saturday in Albuquerque, NM. While not as loud as a real rocket, on-lookers can be seen covering their ears! To the left of the soda bottle launch pad are sparkplugs for launching smaller medicine bottles, a quieter version of the demo. Dr. Miller regularly participates in this annual event, which is attended by hundreds of students and their families and sponsored by the AFRL Technology Engagement Office. This year he was assisted by NRC postdoc David McDonald and Mr. Marcos Martinez. Image credit: KOB4.
