The Boston College Veterans Alumni Network (BCVAN) - Created in 2011, the Boston College Veterans Alumni Network is an alumni affinity group that strengthens the bonds between BC alumni, student veterans, and the University. BCVAN serves as a resource for all Boston College ROTC programs and provides mentoring and network-ing opportunities to current students and alumni who are transitioning from military to civilian life.

The BC Law School Veterans Association - is composed of students and faculty currently on active or reserve duty with the U.S. Armed Forces, were previously on active or reserve duty, are interested in serving in the U.S. Armed Forces or are just interested in military-legal related topics and issues.

The Boston College Veterans Memorial - This website contains a database of Boston College alumni veterans who died in the line of military duty and are honored on the Boston College Veterans Memorial.

Collegiate Warrior Athlete Initiative (CWAI)- Led by Connell School of Nursing Professor Ann Wolbert Burgess, the Collegiate Warrior Athlete Initiative is a 12-week program that brings post-9/11 veterans into contact with campus health, athletic, and educational resources to improve their fitness and wellness. Twice each week, there

are workshops that emphasize nutrition, stress management, and wellness as well as general interest talks on everything from Shakespeare to public speaking, led by Boston College faculty. Read more about this on Connell news.

VDHSCBS - The Veteran-Directed Home and Community-Based Services (VD-HCBS) Program serves Veterans of any age who are determined by the Veterans Administration to be at risk of institutional placement.

Veterans Affinity Group - The Boston College Veterans' Affinity group consists of employees who have expressed an interest in keeping abreast of veteran-relevant information and events, as well as assisting veteran coworkers to identify useful services and programs at the university.

The guide also provides information on laws and regulations that employers may find helpful if they want to make recruiting and hiring veterans with disabilities a priority.

The Veterans Opportunity to Work (VOW) - The Hire Heroes Act of 2011, provides seamless transition for Servicemembers, expands education and training opportunities for Veterans, and provides tax credits for employers who hire Veterans with service-connected disabilities.

Hero 2 Hired - Assists unemployed Reserve Component service members with job placement. Support is provided through the Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program.

Boston College Student Veteran Association - Boston College Student Veterans Group is here to serve and support each other through the military to college transition. They provide opportunities to get together and unwind or have fun, create networking opportunities to build strong relationships with the BC Veterans both current and alumni, and collect and share resources to better meet the needs of our student veterans.

MBA Veterans Network - The Boston College MBA admissions team has a strong affinity for military veterans due to veterans' demonstrated leadership abilities, a strong record of achievement, high personal character, and familiarity working both as individuals and as part of a team. This group acts as a resourse for those interested.

National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) – A great resource for connecting veterans to resources and support on a variety of topics including but not limited to: PTSD, brain injury, spinal cord injuries, transgendered vets, women vets, empowerment, counseling, finances, employment, and much more.

Disabled American Veterans (DAV) - A nonprofit organization whose website provides information on services and benefits available to disabled veterans.

Wounded Warrior Project: Connect - A social network for injured veterans to connect with other veterans, their families, and friends for support and information.

National Center for PTSD - Answers questions about post-traumatic stress disorder and offers treatment and self-help advice.

Veterans' Upward Bound - Provides a unique opportunity for men and women veterans of all ages to gain access to information about college and career awareness, acquire the academic skills required for entry into higher education and/or to acquire the equivalent of a high school diploma.

Home Base - Provides care for Iraq and Afghanistan veterans who have combat or deployment–related stress or traumatic brain injury (TBI). They also provide counseling and support for your family and the people who are closest to you.
