In January 2016 Boston College embarked on the University Strategic Planning Initiative (USPI)—a new strategic planning effort to identify institutional priorities for the next decade.
“Given the pressures and challenges facing higher education, now is an especially appropriate time to assess our progress over the past decade and develop a new strategic plan to carry us for the next 10 years,” said University President William P. Leahy, S.J. Fr. Leahy also articulated his thoughts on the planning effort and his own vision for Boston College.
Fr. Leahy named Executive Vice President Michael J. Lochhead and Provost and Dean of Faculties David Quigley to serve as co-chairs of the USPI. They will work with a steering committee composed of deans, faculty, senior administrators, and students to assess progress made on Boston College’s previous strategic planning effort and to identify new strategic priorities.
The time frame for the planning effort will be roughly 18 to 24 months.
