Profile

I am a lecturer at Brandeis University. My major research interest involves the intersection of religion and gender in the Russian Empire, specifically Russian Orthodox female monasticism. I have also carried out research into women and political movements in the early twentieth century and the history of internal displacement and exile for Jews during wartime. I teach courses in Russian history from the tenth century to the present, world history, modern and early modern European history, and the history of gender.
