Sabina Sullivan researches eighteenth-century Anglophone literature and culture. Some of her specific interests include intersections of race and gender, print and material culture, colonialism, ocean crossings, and orientalism.
She is currently preparing a dissertation that explores how material culture shapes Asia and the Caribbean (the "East and West Indies") in the British imaginary.
Her teaching experience includes First-Year Writing Seminar ("Writing to Learn") and a Literature Core on witches in American culture. In the fall of 2020, she taught an advanced elective called "Rape Culture and the Eighteenth-Century Novel."
Sabina received her B.A. in English and Creative Writing from Oberlin College.
