Legal Analysis for Practice
Jane Hill Lovins is a career law clerk for a federal judge at the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts. Previously, Lovins was a senior associate at Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP, where she maintained a broad practice that included complex civil litigation, securities litigation and enforcement, white collar criminal defense, and employment litigation and counseling. She served on the firm’s Privilege Standing Committee and Women’s Leadership Initiative. She also performed pro bono legal service in the areas of education and juvenile justice. She previously was selected as a member of the Boston Bar Association’s Public Interest Leadership Program and is currently on the Board of Editors of the Boston Bar Journal.
Prior to attending law school, Lovins taught in the South Bronx as a Teach for America corps member and trained new classroom teachers. She also taught in the Boston area as a research teacher at Tufts University for a study involving differential treatment effects on subtypes of dyslexia.
Lovins is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Columbia University, and Boston College Law School, where she was Note Editor of the Boston College Law Review, was a Rappaport Fellow in Law and Public Policy, and helped found the Pro Bono Pledge Program.
