The recent 2022 URSI combined Atlantic + Asia-Pacific Radio Conference in Gran Canaria, Spain saw exciting research results from several BC/ISR projects on Ionospheric Radio and Propagation topics. Teddy M. Surco Espejo, pictured above, gave a well-received talk on vertical gradients in the ionosphere at low latitudes using a network of GNSS receivers located in Brazil and their effects on augmentation aviation systems. Pat Doherty & Rezy Pradipta’s talk discussed the threats to civil aviation caused by ionospheric phenomena. Keith Groves discussed follow-up analysis of the MOSC sounding rocket experiment in the Marshall Islands. BC/ISR researchers were also co-authors on several presentations, including Charles Carrano, Vadym Paznukhov, Sandro Radicella, and John Retterer. Additionally, Pat Doherty and Keith Groves chaired a number of the scientific sessions, and Pat hosted the special session on Women in Radio Science, honoring the achievements of Jocelyn Bell-Burnell, discoverer of radio pulsars.
