The featured speaker, Press Ganey-Thomas O. Pyle Fellowship recipient Andrea Lopez, received her bachelor’s degree in nursing from BC in 2014. She has worked in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Tufts Floating Hospital for Children and is currently enrolled in the pediatric nurse practitioner program at the Connell School.

In total, 40 Connell School students have been recipients of Press Ganey-Thomas O. Pyle Fellowships, which were established in 2007 through a corporate gift from Press Ganey Chairman and CEO Patrick Ryan. The fellowship’s namesake, Thomas O. Pyle, was an innovative leader in health care delivery and patient treatment.

“The BC-Press Ganey partnership has grown tremendously over the past five years,” said Connell School of Nursing Dean Susan Gennaro. “Press Ganey values the importance of health care leaders and providers. They've made it a priority to advance the concept of reducing patient and caregiver suffering, and to achieve a truly patient-centered culture. We're proud of our continued partnership, and we look forward to it continuing for many years.”

Ryan and Press Ganey Chief Nursing Officer Christy Dempsey offered remarks at the celebratory event.

“At Press Ganey, we are proud to support organizations and individuals that share our dedication to the mission of reducing suffering by improving the patient experience,” said Ryan. “We are proud to support these amazing nurses and their efforts to advance their careers. As the healthcare system continues to transform, strong nursing leadership will be a critical aspect of engaging caregivers and providing a safe, high quality, patient-centered care experience.”

An industry leader and strategic business partner to more than 26,000 health care organizations, Press Ganey employs its comprehensive suite of health care solutions and award-winning advisory services to help health care providers create continuous, sustainable improvement to the patient experience.
