Lynch School of Education Professor David Blustein, a faculty member in the school’s Department of Counseling, Development, and Educational Psychology, was presented with the Eminent Career Award from the National Career Development Association at its annual Global Career Development Conference in Phoenix on June 21-23.
Considered NCDA’s highest honor, the award is presented for outstanding service to career development over a lifetime, based on the awardee’s contributions to theory, practice, leadership, and scholarship in career development.
While his research spans many areas—from poverty and oppression to culture and counseling—Blustein’s study of the roles of work in psychological functioning has transformed counseling and vocational psychology. A member of the Lynch School faculty since 1999, Blustein has authored more than 100 scholarly articles and more than 20 book chapters; he is finishing up his third book, The Impact of Work in an Age of Uncertainty.
