University President William P. Leahy, S.J., has announced that Joy Haywood Moore ’81, associate vice president for Alumni Relations, will now be in charge of the planning and direction of University Commencement.
“Joy has extensive experience in planning major events, and she knows Boston College well,” said Fr. Leahy. “I appreciate her continued generosity and commitment to Boston College.”
Moore, who was presented with an honorary degree from BC in 2010, joined the Advancement Office in 2011 as director of stewardship and donor relations.
She previously worked as interim and deputy head of the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa and held a variety of leadership positions at the Archer School for Girls in Los Angeles and her alma mater, Dana Hall School in Wellesley.
