REGULATORY RADAR - On January 1, 2022, the European Commission announced that it has begun consultations with sustainable finance experts on a draft text of an act to complement the EU Taxonomy covering certain gas and nuclear activities.

REGULATORY RADAR - On December 16, 2021, Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced a plan to require companies to issue climate-related financial disclosures.

REGULATORY RADAR - On April 20, 2022, the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority announced new rules requiring UK-listed companies to report information and disclose against targets on the representation of women and ethnic minorities on their boards and executive management.

REGULATORY RADAR - On April 27, 2022, the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) announced the formation of two bodies to ensure its corporate sustainability reporting standards are compatible with ongoing initiatives to develop such standards in local jurisdictions.

REGULATORY RADAR - On May 25, 2022, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) put forth amendments to rules and reporting forms aimed at providing investors with more information regarding how funds and advisors are incorporating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors.

REGULATORY RADAR - On June 7, 2022, the EU agreed to pass legislation establishing gender quotas on boards of large companies. First proposed in 2012, the legislation would still need to be approved by the parliament and member states.
