Campus Update Wednesday March 18, 2020
- As of today, there have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 on campus. We will provide a campus update on the this website as information becomes available.
- Students who remain on campus will be housed in single rooms in residence halls on Upper Campus, and will be supported by dining facilities in McElroy Commons.
- All BC Libraries will be closed until further notice. The latest information is available at BC Libraries Services Update.
- The Boston College Children's Center will close at the end of the day on Friday, March 20.
- BC Dining Services will continue to serve food to go. Dining hours of operation can be found at bc.edu/offices/dining/locations/hourscalendar.html
- BC Dining Services is offering Value Meals for students, with price discounts of 15%.
- In addition to McElroy Commons, the dining facility at 129 Lake Street remains open for BC employees.
- Remote teaching and learning will begin on Thursday, March 19. The University is committed to ensuring that the same rigorous approach to course material will be delivered through the mode of remote instruction. Provost and Dean of Faculties David Quigley will email a letter to students and faculty that will provide additional information on the transition to online learning.
- The Office of International Programs has announced that it is cancelling all of its 2020 study abroad summer programs.
- No decision has yet been made on 2020 Summer Session at Boston College.
- No decision has yet been made on the 2020 Commencement.
- The City of Boston has shut down all construction projects within city limits for the foreseeable future, which will suspend the construction project at the Harrington Athletics Village on the Brighton Campus.
- Construction continues on the science facility for the Schiller Institute for Integrated Science and Society on the Middle Campus in Chestnut Hill.
- The ACC announced that it has canceled all spring sports competition.
- The Margot Connell Recreation Complex remains open with modified hours. Visitors are expected to follow established social distancing guidelines.
- Facilities staff are cleaning and disinfecting common areas around campus multiple times each day, including residence halls, offices, and dining facilities.
