Campus Update Tuesday March 24, 2020

  • Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker has issued an emergency order that directs all non-essential businesses to close from noon on March 24 through noon on April 7. The order exempts college and university employees who are required to maintain essential campus services, including support for distance learning and for students who remain on campus.

  • All on-campus community members are required to continue six-foot social distancing.

  • As of today, there has been one confirmed case of COVID-19 on campus. The student is in isolation and receiving treatment in the Thomas More Apartments.

  • There have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 involving faculty or staff.

  • The number of reported positive cases of students who are off campus or at home is 19, as of March 23.

  • In accordance with Governor Baker’s order yesterday, the Margot Connell Recreation Center will be closed beginning today until further notice.

  • BC Dining Services continues to serve food to go for students who remain on the Upper Campus. View dining hours of operation. Cafe 129 will discontinue food service this afternoon. 

  • McElroy Commons and the Eagle's Nest remain open for study space, with a mandate for 6-foot social distancing.

  • Reimbursements for room and board for students who left campus in March and returned home will be credited to student accounts. The process should be completed this week.

  • St. Mary’s Chapel on the Chestnut Hill Campus remains open Monday through Friday from 9-5 for private prayer.  It will be closed on Saturday and Sunday.
