Thair Brown ’20 is the recipient of the 2019 Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship.

Meet Thair Brown ’20, recipient of the 2019 Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship. The award is given each year to a junior who demonstrates an outstanding commitment to the black community while excelling academically. An economics major with minors in computer science and African and African diaspora studies, Brown has served as president of the Caribbean Culture Club; as a student leader on the Jamaica Magis Service Trip; and as a member of the AHANA+ Leadership Council. “A priority for me has always been to create events which cater to underrepresented communities,” Brown said, “so that they, too, may feel like they have found a home at BC.” He will receive up to $19,000 for his senior year tuition plus a $1,000 gift card to the bookstore. ◽
