Samantha Teixeira, an assistant professor, published “University and Community Agency Research Partnerships: Implications for Teaching, Scholarship, and Service” in the Journal of Social Work Education. Her co-authors included associate professor Margaret Lombe, doctoral candidates Victor Figuereo, Melissa Bartholomew, and Jaime Perez-Aponte, and Professor Emerita Ruth McRoy. Teixeira and Rebekah Coley, a professor of applied developmental and educational psychology in the Lynch School of Education and Human Development, recently received a grant from the Russell Sage Foundation and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to examine how the redevelopment of public housing into mixed-income housing affects concentrated disadvantage and other barriers to economic mobility.
