Halvorsen publishes interactive report on older adults

Assistant Professor Cal J. Halvorsen partnered with Encore.org, the Center on Aging & Work at Boston College, and BCSSW to publish his interactive report, “What does it mean to have a society with more older people than younger ones?” In partnership with the social venture startup Mon Ami, he also published two research briefs on the motivations for becoming a companion to older people and the benefits of this work. He presented at the Gerontological Society of America’s Annual Scientific Meeting on findings from the Encore Fellowships Program, the Sloan Research Network on Aging & Work’s International Fall Institute on preliminary findings regarding fairness at the workplace, and the Encore Network regarding his research on the keen interest older Americans have in entrepreneurship. He was featured in articles in The New York TimesThe Washington PostBBC WorklifeHuman Resource Executive, and in a PBS Next Avenue piece that was picked up by Forbes and MarketWatch.
