Easton Assists the Government of New Zealand Expand Support Services for Survivors of Sexual Abuse

Associate Professor Scott Easton was one of five international experts consulted for a project by the Government of New Zealand’s Royal Commission on evidence-informed interventions for male survivors of historical child sexual abuse.

The goal of the systematic review is to expand support services for adult survivors. Additionally, the report to the Royal Commission will include excerpts from eight of Easton’s prior publications on topics affecting survivors, including disclosure barriers, mental health, suicidality, and post-traumatic growth. Easton was also one of three BC faculty members to join 31 undergraduates on a social justice immersion trip to Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories in January.
