The latest research from the Paleobotany Laboratory at Weston Observatory, A possible billion-year-old Holozoan with differentiated multicellularity, is now on-line in the journal Current Biology. Bicellum Brasieri possess two distinct cell types that are segregated into two distinct tissues, as such, it is the first example of complex multicellularity known from the fossil record.
