Valentina Nilo Covarrubias is a doctoral student in Theological Ethics. Originally from Chile, Valentina completed her Masters in Theological Studies at the Boston College School of Theology and Ministry.

Valentina worked at Universidad Alberto Hurtado as Director of the “Centro Universitario Ignaciano” (Undergraduate Core in Theology and Campus Ministry).

After 10 years, Valentina moved back to Boston with her family to join the doctoral program. Her research focuses on gender, sexuality, justice, and motherhood. She is interested in the intersection between theological ethics and social sciences, and hopes to conduct qualitative research on mothers’ experiences of violence, focusing on their strategies of resistance and moral agency.
