Research Interests
My main topics of interest include comparative political sociology/social movements, immigration and modern nation-state in the Middle East, sociology of Iranian pop arts and literature, and intersections of sociology and psychoanalysis. I'm currently working on racialization of and discrimination against Afghan immigrants in Iran, interconnectedness of Afghan labor migration and construction/estate market, and the politico-economic impact of Afghan immigration on Iranian national identity and state control.
