Sociology Major Latifat Odetunde Awarded the 2021 Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship from Boston College

The Sociology Department offers our heartfelt congratulations to Latifat Odetunde (Sociology and AADS double major) for being awarded the 2021 Martin Luther King Jr. Scholarship from Boston College. Latifat connects her commitment to Dr. King’s values to her Muslim identity: “I place faith as my foundation like King, where Islam is the gateway that has helped me find my voice …If Dr. King were to ask me today ‘What is your life's blueprint?’ I would say that it is about loving my intersections unconditionally and using my passion for education to build community.” Congrats Latifat on this very well-deserved honor!
