Sociology PhD Students Orla Kelly and Ryan Thombs are Co-Recipients of the 2018 Severyn T. Bruyn Award for Outstanding Scholarship in Social Economy and Social Justice

Orla Kelly was recognized for her paper “The Silver Bullet? Assessing the Role of Education for Sustainability”, which is currently under review for publication. Ryan Thombs was recognized for his paper “The Transnational Tilt of the Treadmill and the Role of Trade Openness on Carbon Emissions: A Comparative International Study, 1965–2010”, which was published in early 2018 in the journal Sociological Forum.
