Prof. Mormando Identifies New Bernini Drawing

Several years ago Prof. Franco Mormando discovered in a private collection a hitherto unknown drawing for a never-executed tomb monument commissioned of famed Roman Baroque artist, Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Burlington Magazine of London has just published (November 2017 issue) his article discussing the origins and attribution of the Bernini drawing as well as the nature of the commission for which it was prepared.
