Biography

Katrina Rowe is a first-year M.A. student studying early modern British economic history at the Morrissey College of Arts and Sciences. In 2023, she graduated Middlebury College Summa cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts, having double majored in history and political science. During her time at Middlebury, Katrina was named a 2022-2023 Kellogg Fellow, and a recipient of the Marci J. Stewart Memorial Award. Her undergraduate honors thesis entitled, “Weaving a Colonial State: How the East India Company Supplied England’s “Calico Craze” and Aggrandized Power in India,” examined how by expanding their authority over the calico supply chain, the British East India Company laid the foundation for the British colonial state in India. Her current research examines the British Credit Crisis of 1772–1773.
