Profile

I am working on mesoscale convective systems over the U.S. with a particular focus on their representation in climate models (GFDL AM4) and underlying multiscale processes. Although my previous works are mostly centered on synoptic-dynamic meteorology, I am extending my stage toward a wide range of scales (from meso to planetary). I believe this is essential to better understand and predict extreme weather which is inherently multiscale in nature. By combining the theoretical, numerical, and diagnostic approaches and integrating subdisciplines in atmospheric science, I ultimately aim to construct a multiscale hierarchy of extreme events (particularly, heavy rainfall).
