Inflation and Paul Volcker

Former Federal Reserve chair Paul Volcker, who died this week at age 92, is credited with taming inflation after he took over in 1979. Murray and Monti Professor of Economics Peter Ireland and BC Trustee Associate Richard Syron '66, H'89, a former assistant to Volcker who went on to head the Boston Federal Reserve, comment in the Boston Globe.
