IS Program Hosts Peacebuilding Webinar

Throughout extended periods of conflict that the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has faced in its colonial and post-independence history, the Catholic Church has worked for peace by monitoring elections, mediating between warring parties, offering peace education and training, and ministering to the millions of suffering and displaced victims. On July 8 the IS Program joined the Catholic Peacebuilding Network and a dozen co-sponsors in the US, Africa, and Europe to discuss the role of Catholic Peacebuilding in the DRC, featuring scholars, activists, and clergy, including BC professors Léocadie Lushombo and Lisa Sowle Cahill. The video is now avaliable with English audio and French subtitles.
