It’s no secret that students everywhere found it harder to get to know their professors during this past year, in the throes of the pandemic. For that reason, Carroll School sophomore Haoyi Wang, who works in the school’s communications office, came up with an idea: Ask professors to share fun photos of themselves and answer questions—about their pastimes, their favorite spots on campus, why they became business school professors, how they’ve changed over time, their advice to students, and other points of interest.
The result was “Getting to Know Your Professors,” a series of photos and features that ran on Instagram from mid-March through June. We learned about one prominent professor who is also a singer-songwriter, another who practices cold-water swimming in Walden Pond year-round, and many other things about Carroll School faculty members.
