Why did you choose to attend Boston College?
I always wanted to go to BC. Before applying, I had only heard great things about the University, especially its community and alumni network, as well as the strong academic curricula. My favorite thing about BC is the people. I enjoyed and appreciated how students, career advisors, professors, and alumni are only an email away. I found it effortless to communicate with others and contribute to building a stronger BC network.

What was your favorite BC MBA event?
I liked the BC Business Day event for admitted students. I got to meet my soon-to-be classmates and friends, as well as my career advisor and the admissions team. The event planted that “BC feeling” in me—the feeling of being part of a great community that is truly inclusive and welcoming.

Why did you choose to attend Boston College?
I chose the BC MBA because of its strong reputation, wealth of professional connections, and vast alumni network that would be instrumental in advancing my career. I was also drawn to the program’s focus on data analytics as this would provide me with the necessary technical skills to further my career. Finally, the program’s small class size creates a close-knit community and provides student with many opportunities to take on leadership roles.

What advice would you give to future BC MBA candidates?
Take advantage of the many opportunities BC has to offer. There are many ways to get involved and take on leadership positions within the BC community. BC provides a highly collaborative environment and I’ve found that everyone, from peers to professors to the administration, is willing to help you succeed.

What was a highlight of your BC MBA experience?
The highlight of my MBA experience was the friends that I met along the way.  Because the BC full-time MBA has small cohort sizes, I found it really easy to connect with and get to know everyone in my graduating class, which is important because your MBA classmates eventually form the core of your future professional network. 

What surprised you about the BC MBA?
What surprised me about the BC MBA was how much I enjoyed learning about subjects that I previously did not have interest in, or thought I did not have interest in. The BC MBA curriculum stands out because of its emphasis on data analytics that can be applied across industries and job functions. I felt sufficiently prepared entering the workforce with this new knowledge that I had gained through the program.

Why did you choose to attend Boston College?
When deciding where to go for my MBA, I focused on the school that would prepare me to enter a new industry with the tools to succeed. I chose BC because of their focus on data analytics. Seeing the shift in the career landscape, I knew of the growing need to learn where data comes from and how to gather, read and derive impactful insight from it.

What surprised you about the BC MBA?
When arriving at BC, I was surprised by the constant support, not only from the professors and the tight knit cohort, but also the alumni network. The vast diversity in geographies and experiences helped me navigate rigorous course load and the internship application process.

What was a highlight of your BC MBA experience?
The people, no doubt. I had found kindred spirits and a new professional network from both my fellow classmates and my professors. Only by going through the MBA process and investing in the quality of my relationships with others did I realize what my life had been missing.

What surprised you about the BC MBA?
The most surprising thing was the transformative nature of the BC MBA. You may not notice it day-by-day in the moment, but once you are nearing the end of the program and you see what you and your cohort have accomplished both personally and professionally, you move onward from the program simply amazed at what you can achieve.
