Manuel Lancastre is an associate professor of the practice in the Seidner Department of Finance at the Boston College Carroll School of Management. He has held teaching positions at Brown University and the University of Lisbon Technical Institute. He has more than 30 years of consulting, management, entrepreneurial and academic experience, combined with a relevant political curriculum. He served as Secretary of State of Economy in the Government of Portugal, and as Head of Mission fo Portuguese public administration reform.
He was an engagement manager at McKinsey & Company, and has served as CEO, executive board member, and advisory roles in publicly listed companies. He has been an entrepreneur and investor in the renewable energy and biofuels sector. Lancastre holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Nova School of Business and Economics, an MBA from INSEAD, and an M.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Technical University of Lisbon.
