Newton College of the Sacred Heart was a residential liberal arts college for women, founded by the Religious of the Sacred Heart in 1946. With diminishing enrollment leading to financial stress in the 1970s, Newton College was consolidated with its near neighbor, Boston College, in 1975. Its Centre St. campus now houses BC’s first year students and is the location of the Boston College Law School. Boston College recognizes the alumna of Newton College and considers these graduates part of the legacy that is the Boston College Alumni.

The Newton College Book Club
The Newton College Book Club takes place on the evening of the last Monday of every month throughout the Fall and Spring. The Book Club is held in a hybrid format - alumnae are able to join either in-person or virtually via Zoom. Come gather with fellow Newton College and Boston College alumni to share in great discussion, and enjoy refreshments and food together at BC’s Brighton campus.
