Ethan Murphy is a doctoral research scholar in the Neuroscience of Addiction and Mental Health Program at Australian Catholic University (ACU). Before moving to Australia, Ethan completed a B.Sc in Neuroscience at Trinity College Dublin and an M.Sc in Cognitive Science at University College Dublin, taking first-class honours in both. Ethan obtained an international research scholarship to undertake his PhD at ACU which aims to be the first of its kind internationally to investigate the use of a novel neuroimaging technique, fMRI-neurofeedback, to reduce cravings in individuals with cannabis use disorder (CUD). Ethan’s primary research interests concern the mapping and mitigating of the underlying neurobiological mechanisms of substance use disorders, with a particular focus on individuals with CUD. Separately, Ethan has published in several high-impact journals on the topics of sustainability and the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals.
