Natalie grew up in Europe and has now settled in Boston. She has a BS in Anthropology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and MSW from the University of Southern California. Natalie is currently pursuing her PhD in Social Work. Her research interests are social determinants of health in children and how parental psychosocial acuity impacts a child's health status. She is currently working on a review that examines genetic literacy among Latina women during the preconception and prenatal periods. Natalie is also working on a study that examines providers' perceptions of the psychosocial complications recent Latinx immigrants face in the US. She is also involved in several projects that address childhood obesity. Natalie spends her free time chasing her toddler and traveling.

Nancy was born and raised in the southwest side of Chicago, IL. She received her BSW (2018) and MSW (2019) from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign School of Social Work. Nancy is a second-year PhD student and National Institute of Mental Health Pre-Doctoral Fellow at Washington University in St. Louis. Her research interests include the intersection of physical and mental health disparities among racial and ethnic communities, specifically among Latinxs. She is currently providing research assistance to several projects, including the Latinx Immigration Context and Health in the U.S. Midwest. The study investigates a diverse sample of recent Latinxs migrants across multiple levels of immigration (e.g., pre-immigration, transitional, post-migration). Nancy’s long-term goal is to develop culturally and linguistically appropriate technology-based mental health stigma and literacy interventions to improve mental health outcomes among the Latinx community. She also enjoys churros on the beach, cooking, reading poetry, and spending time with her family and friends.

Beatriz is from San Juan, Puerto Rico. She recently graduated from Boston College with a major in Psychology. She is a doctoral student at Albizu University. She is interested in working on and learning more about the mental health of people that are part of the LatinX community. Bea is particularly interested in developmental psychology. She is currently working on a project about mental health stigma in the LatinX community. Some of her hobbies include gardening, journaling, and listening to music. In her free time Beatriz likes to go out to Boston, spend time with her friends, and watch movies.

Catalina is from Bogotá, Colombia. She is currently a Social Welfare Ph.D. candidate at Florida International University, thanks to a Fulbright-Minciencias Scholarship from the Fulbright Colombian Commission. She is a clinical and health psychologist from Universidad de Los Andes interested in adolescent suicidality, disaster mental health, and data science. She is currently working on a project to develop two R packages, one related to natural and man-made mass casualties and the other regarding the Youth Risk Behavioral Surveillance System. She enjoys working with data and R Studio. She is passionate about learning new things, especially related to data science. Currently, she is spending most of her time learning and applying supervised machine learning techniques to understand relevant risk factors for suicide ideation and attempts in youth. Catalina loves to spend time with her 7-year-old son, especially when they get lost around Miami and end up exploring new places.

Ana Sofía is originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico. She received her bachelor’s degree in Advertising & Public Relations from Loyola University Chicago and is currently working towards her Master’s in Social Work at Boston College, where she’s part of the Latinx Leadership Initiative. Ana Sofía is interested in learning about collective ways in which communities heal, particularly women and survivors of violence in Latin America. She’s also interested in Expressive Arts Therapy to help individuals and communities ground themselves. In her free time, Ana Sofía enjoys painting, dancing, going to the beach whenever she can, and hanging out with her family.

JoDeanne is from the city of Hartford, Connecticut. She is a final year Boston College School of Social Work clinical student with a concentration in Mental Health. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Amherst College where she majored in Psychology as well as Sexuality, Women, and Gender Studies. In 2022, she completed a Master of Arts at Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary where her studies centered on the Black Christian experience. JoDeanne’s research interests focus on the intersection of mental health, ethnicity, faith, and intimate relationships. She has a passion for person-centered research that focuses on communities of color, women, and immigrants. In the lab, she is currently assisting on the MACONDO project on Latinx Immigrants in the United States. JoDeanne aspires to do trauma-informed faith and justice-oriented work centered on holistic healing, community education, and advocacy. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, and learning new games.

Natalia is originally from Bogotá, Colombia. She recently graduated from Universidad de La Sabana with a bachelor's degree in psychology. She's currently working on a Master's in Public Policy from Los Andes University.  
Natalia is interested in studying the mental health of women and exploring experiences of victims, ex combatants and militaries in the arm conflict and post-conflict in Colombia. Her ultimate goal is to find solutions to improve the wellbeing of these communities and promote reconciliation.
Natalia is part of several research teams including MACONDO, where she conducts interviews with parents and providers in Colombia. She's also part of the "Semillero de acción social" where she works with victims of armed conflict. She also teaches about political participation to women who are part of the "Costurero de la Memoria" in Bogotá, Colombia. During her free time, Natalia plays tennis, Taekwondo and rebound in Kangoo Jumps. She also enjoys playing the piano and reading.

Lyann Tam is from Chicago, Illinois. She is currently an undergraduate student at Boston College majoring in Global Public Health and the Common Good and is on the pre-med track. She is passionate about learning more about the public health problems that LatinX and other immigrant communities face. Lyann is particularly interested in the intersectionality of housing, environment, and health, especially in families and children. Her goal as a part of this team and throughout her life is to be able to implement projects in communities that will lead to better access to quality healthcare and increase security and well-being in general. Lyann’s hobbies include metalsmithing and jewelry making, hiking, playing frisbee, and spending time outside with friends.

 Diana is from Chicago, IL. She is a junior at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She is a Molecular and Cellular Biology major. Diana is interested in a broad range of topics in Molecular Biology. Specifically, she hopes to get involved in infectious diseases research and/or cancer research. Diana is also interested in mental health research as it relates to communities of color. In her spare time, she enjoys taking walks and playing fetch with her puppy. Earlier in the year, Diana also started to embroider.
