Alejandro Olayo-Méndez, an assistant professor, focused on the experiences of Latinx immigrant workers in the U.S. during COVID-19 for a paper published in the Journal of Poverty.
"The COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated the long-standing barriers to health-care access and health outcomes for the Latino community," he wrote. "These factors are compound by the current health care challenges the COVID-19 pandemic poses for the Latino community."
