Biography

Adèle Giovanniello is a senior ESJ IS major with a minor in Environmental Studies. Adèle was born in Boston, MA but because their father is bilingual and the grandson of a French immigrant, they are a native French speaker. Additionally, Adèle’s experience growing up both in France and around the United States has led them to become very curious about global cultures learning languages. In the summer of 2023, Adèle participated in the SISP summer immersion program at Sogang University in Seoul, SK and continued their studies throughout the fall semester. Outside of academics, last summer Adèle conducted research on African Politics and SDG groups for Professor Lauren Honig at Boston College, and this summer they will be designing Affordable housing in Cape Cod. Other than learning languages and their passion for IS, Adèle enjoys spending their free time watching stand-up comedy (Ronny Chieng being their favorite), weightlifting, and drawing/painting. Whether it be talking about the IS program, figuring out study abroad plans, or debating about the best comedians, Adèle looks forward to meeting with other IS students and helping out in any way they can!
